Healthy Children – Pizza Recipes

Feeding kids have always been a dilemma for parents, since time immemorial. Fortunately, the best kid recipes are usually the ones that are so simple to make, you’d be surprised why you didn’t think of it in the first place. A simple recipe can do the trick.

To make great pizzas, there are some things to watch out for:

  • Always preheat your oven.

  • Brush the pizza crust with olive oil before adding the toppings.

  • Always put a layer of cheese on top to keep the ingredients from scorching.

  • Toppings are great, but beware of too much. It might make your pizza dough too soggy.

  • If you can, bake pizza on a pizza stone, because this distributes the heat evenly so it’s better than the usual oven (although I really can’t complain).

Here are some great pizza recipes to start you out:

Chicken Pizza

Ingredients:

2 boneless and skinless chicken breast halves
half a cup of Ranch-style salad dressing
1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup of chopped tomatoes
¼ cup green onions
a pre-prepared pizza crust.

Procedure:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

  • Lightly grease a pizza pan.

  • Bake crust for 7 minutes in the oven or until it turns golden brown.

  • Place chicken in a large skillet and cook until no longer pink.

  • Cool, then chop into small pieces.

  • Spread ranch dressing over the partially baked crust.

  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese, put tomatoes, green onion and chicken, then top with Cheddar cheese.

  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Sausage Pizza

Ingredients:

1 pound sweet Italian sausage
olive oil
2 large sliced onions
1 pressed clove of garlic
8 oz. of tomato sauce
salt and pepper to taste
crushed red pepper
one-fourth cup of sliced green stuffed olives
1 loaf French bread (sliced horizontally)
6 oz. of shredded mozzarella cheese.

Procedure:

  • Sauté sausage (after removing from casing) in olive oil until browned.

  • Remove excess oil. Remove sausage from pan and set aside.

  • Sauté onions and garlic in olive oil.

  • Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper and red pepper to taste.

  • Stir in the sausage and the chopped olives.

  • Toast bread lightly. Top with the mix and sprinkle mozzarella cheese all over.

  • Heat 3 minutes under broiler for about a couple of minutes or until the cheese melts.

You can never go wrong with pizzas. Go forth and make some for your family now.
