The Top 5 Super Foods For Kids

As parents, it’s vital that we ensure that our children get all the nutritional value they need on a daily basis. Allowing them to freely fill their bodies with chemicals, sugar, and additives from junk food is simply out of the question.

Though the little buggers have addictions to all the wrong types of chows, getting them to turn away from the bad stuff and replacing it with the good grub can still be done. With that said, here’s the first item on our list of super foods for kids: blueberries.

These fruits are loaded with antioxidants that can destroy free radicals. Eliminating free radicals is vital for your kid’s overall well-being, mainly because allowing them to build up has been shown to bring about some serious diseases, such as cancer.

Furthermore, blueberries, and any other members of the berry family, make an excellent substitute for sugar. Turning these naturally sweet tasting fruits into shakes will keep any child happy and healthy.

The second item on our list of super foods for kids is whole-grain bread. Upon ingestion, this super food is broken down and converted to glucose, which acts as fuel for keeping your loved one energized throughout the day.

As for the third entry on the list, we have yogurt. There aren’t that many parents that’d find it difficult to feed their children this delicious tasting treat. What makes this type of grub so beneficial is its abundance of calcium and protein. Moreover, it’s a great source of acidophilus, which is good bacterium that helps boost the immune system.

Fourth item on our list of super foods for kids is “organic” chicken. Emphasis is placed on the term organic because this variation of edible bird doesn’t contain the harmful chemicals and hormones found in its commercialized counterpart. Additionally, the unhealthy content of commercial chicken is said to cause health related disorders such as cancer.

Aside from being a whole lot safer, natural chicken tastes better. The organic version is said to be softer and has more complex flavors.

Fifth and last item on our list of super foods for kids is broccoli. This veggie is jam-packed with trace minerals (like zinc and selenium) and vitamin c, both of which are essential for boosting the immune system. Furthermore, it’s an excellent source of calcium and vitamin K, which is helpful for developing stronger bones.
