Kid Dessert Recipes:
Banana Cake
An easy to make recipe that doesn’t require a lot of skill. It’s healthy, high in grains, and a better alternative to most store bought cakes.
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 ½ cups of mashed banana
½ cup of butter
½ cup baking soda
2 ¼ cup all purpose flour
1 ¼ cup sugar
2 ½ tsp. double acting baking powder
Instructions:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a mixing bowl, mix in the baking soda, all purpose flour, sugar, and double acting baking powder evenly.
3. Add the two eggs, ½ cup mashed banana, and butter. Beat the ingredients in an electric mixer for about two minutes at medium speed. Or beat by hand till smooth and even.
4. Add the vanilla extract and the rest of the mashed banana while continuing to beat or mix the ingredients in the bowl.
5. If using an electric mixer, continue to beat the mixture for another two minutes. If by hand, till you have an even texture.
6. Place the mixture in a round pan or baking dish (you may divide the mixture to make smaller cakes.)
7. Cook for twenty-five minutes and allow to cool before serving.
